Day Training

Day training is an ideal fit for those families that are on the go and just can’t fit in time to train their dog or puppy.  This service is also a great fit for training challenges that do not involve the pup's relationship with the family or home.  Some examples are as follows:  leash skills, reactivity, desensitization to surroundings, crate training, recall…and those are just a few!

A day training program is generally considered more effective than a board and train program for intensive dog training for several key reasons

Familiar Environment

After a day of on-site training your dog returns home in a more calm and receptive state for long term learning in a familiar environment.

Continuous Learning

Skills are immediately practiced in the dog's daily life, enhancing retention.

Real-Life Integration

Training can address specific challenges in and out of the household, including public spaces with other animals and people.

Customized Approach

Trainers will adapt methods to suit the dog's environment and family dynamics.

Reduced Stress

Your dog sleeps in his/her own bed each night, minimizing anxiety and disruption, which helps to accelerate learning.

Owner Involvement

Owners are integrated into the training to learn how to reinforce behaviors and maintain consistency.

Finally!  A trainer who listens to a dog owner’s concerns and specific needs and truly resolves the issues!

Pamela Chandler has a GREAT training camp concept where the dog is trained one on one for multiple ½ day sessions and the pooch goes home to the comfort of his/her owner each evening!

Our 1 year old cockapoo, Bailey, was having trouble with barking at other dogs, leash walking (pulling) and coming on command so we enrolled him in her three ½ day training session.  By the end of the second ½ day session, we saw 100% difference in our dog’s behavior!

We highly recommend her to anyone looking for an experienced and highly effective dog trainer!

We have been clients of Woof Academy since our dog, Riley, a Goldendoodle, was 10 weeks old.  We started with puppy socialization classes and then moved to puppy training classes.  He did really well in these classes and I was very impressed with Pam and her entire team.  Everyone was so patient and so supportive.   It was clear they knew exactly what each dog needed.

After Riley was a year old we realized that we needed some one-on-one training for him.  He was very stubborn and hard to handle.  He was pulling when he walked, no matter what kind of harness we got and he was very reactive when he met another dog.  He was getting on the counters when we weren’t looking, which was dangerous.  We wanted him to go to someone for training for at least ½ day sessions.  Since  we knew and trusted Pam and the trainers at Woof Academy, we were pleased to see that she offers ½ or full day sessions.   We took him to her new facility in San Marcos where she and Rachael, one of the other trainers at Woof Academy worked with him for ½ days for 3 days.  Then they showed us exactly how to work with him ourselves.

The experience was exceptional! Riley no longer pulls when we walk him.  He passes other dogs without even looking up.  He stops to cross the street.  Riley has quit counter “surfing” and stays on command.  I’m so impressed with how much he learned in such a short time with Pam and Rachael.  The outcome of his training and our experience with Woof Academy has been exceptional and totally exceeded our expectations.

I highly recommend Pam and her team at Woof Academy to anyone looking for professional and effective training.

Our 63-pound Labradoodle, Bear, was incredibly leash reactive—not in an aggressive way, but in a way that made walks chaotic. Any dog he saw, he wanted to run and play with immediately. And if someone smiled at him, he would jump up on them with pure excitement. It got to the point where my wife couldn't walk him anymore because he was just too strong and unpredictable.

Enter Pamela at Woof Academy. After just two half-day training sessions, our dog is an entirely different pup. Pamela worked wonders—he's now calm, attentive, and a joy to walk—no more pulling or jumping; just a well-behaved dog who is a pleasure to take out. It's truly a testament to the transformative power of effective dog training.

One of the best parts?   We can now take him to dog-friendly restaurants without any issues. He stays calm and well-behaved, making dining out a breeze.

I can't thank Pamela and Woof Academy enough for their fantastic work. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for practical and compassionate dog training!

We can’t say enough wonderful things about The Woof Academy and owner-operator, Pamela Chandler!  We got our puppy, a Portuguese Water Dog, Leonidas, last October. He started at Woof in the puppy socialization camp. It taught him immmediately to interact and play with other puppies.  He has since graduated to the dog socialization camp. He is so excited to go twice a week and play in the large yard with the other dogs, and he loves the staff, who are all wonderful!!

We live on a large property, and Leonidas has a lot of room to roam in. A few months back,  when he was in the front yard, he started to react to people walking by with other dogs, cars, and especially trucks. He also started to jump and bark when we encountered others or vehicles and e-bikes, etc., in our walks.

We spoke to Pam about training him with an E-collar. She offered us a three-day training  program where she took Leo into various settings, from the park to the rail trail and through neighborhoods where he could encounter the situations that were making him react. On the last of the three days, she came to our home and trained us with Leo. We trained with Pam and Leo in our own yard and then ventured out into the neighborhood where she gave us explicit instructions on how to use the E-collar so Leo responded positively and we were comfortable with the process. He did excellent.

However, he did have a few days when he reverted back to his unacceptable behaviors. I reached out to Pam, and she immediately responded. We met her at the park the very same day, and she spent the afternoon with us at the park, walking in the neighborhood and then returned with us to our home to make and practice a plan with Leo.  Since then, Leonidas has been so receptive and cooperative with us.  It has really helped us to help our boy and to keep him happy and safe.  He will be one year old next week, and we can’t say enough good things about what a joy he is, largely due to Pam, the Woof Academy, her staff, and the very valuable E-collar training she offered us!  He loves our five grandkids (and all kids he meets) and is such a joy to have in our family.

We would not hesitate to recommend The Woof Academy and the many programs for puppies and dogs they offer.

Thank you Pam, Rachel, Jay and all the wonderful staff for helping us to raise a wonderful family dog!

Sincerely The Aschbrenner Family.
